Kayla et Tim m’ont confié leur mariage au Château de la Napoule, sur la Côte d’Azur. Dès les premières minutes, j’ai su que nous étions faits l’un pour l’autre (et je ne plaisante qu’à moitié). Il se dégageait de ces deux amoureux une douceur, une gentillesse et une bienveillance comme on en voit rarement. Ils savaient ce qu’ils voulaient et, surtout, ils m’ont fait confiance tout au long de ces trois jours de célébration.
Tout a commencé par un welcome dinner à l’hôtel Mondrian, à Cannes. Tout y était : l’atmosphère de la Côte d’Azur, les palmiers, la chaleur humide du soir, et tous ceux qu’ils aiment réunis autour d’eux pour ouvrir les festivités d’un mariage inoubliable. Kayla et Tim sont américains ; ils ont choisi la France pour se dire oui. Et entre nous, ils ont eu bien raison.
Le lendemain, le grand jour. Plus solennel, celui où le trac et l’émotion commencent doucement à s’installer…
Kayla and Tim asked me to photograph their wedding at Château de la Napoule, on the French Riviera. Within minutes, I knew we were made for each other (I’m only half joking). These two radiated a gentleness, a kindness and a warmth you rarely see. They knew exactly what they wanted and, above all, they trusted me throughout three days of celebration.
It all began with a welcome dinner at the Mondrian in Cannes. Everything was there: the Riviera atmosphere, the palm trees, the warm, humid evening air, and everyone they love gathered around them to open the festivities of an unforgettable wedding. Kayla and Tim are American, and they chose France to say yes. Between us, they were absolutely right.
The next day was the big day: more solemn, the one when nerves and emotion slowly begin to set in…
